Her journey into learning alternate ways of improving horses’ health and well-being started when she took her first course in Equine Message.  Since then, she continues to further her knowledge through practice, taking additional equine related courses and attending seminars offered by equine bodyworkers. Acupressure, through Tallgrass, has been an exceptional tool to add to Carol’s equine wellness toolkit, especially with its focus on assessment and because it can easily be shared and used by equine caregivers.

Through emails and phone calls with barefoot trimmers in Canada and the United States Lisa started the journey of learning the barefoot trim to support her gelding Beast. Lisa has kept current with the developments in natural hoof care and education on hoof health, particularly founder and laminitis. With her love of learning and wanting to work with nature and not against it, Lisa started exploring the energetics within the body and how it’s all connected. Through researching the Equine Chakra system and meridians this eventually led her to find Tallgrass' Acupressure program.

Although Beast is now retired, at the age of 28 I'm sure he is as appreciative of his mom’s passion for learning to give him his best life as she is for the 20 years and counting for the lessons and the incentives to never stop learning and making a horse crazy little girl's dream come true.

Tao Alchemy Qigong Instructor

Master Level of Reiki in Usui system of Natural Healing

I was born and raised in The Netherlands and feel very fortunate to have grown up with graceful Lipizzaners at our family home. After getting married and living around the globe for many years while raising our young family, we ended up in Canada in 2009. Horses soon found their way back into my life and I celebrated our decision to stay in Canada, by inviting two beautiful Andalusian geldings and two very cute cats into our family here.

Being able to gently get in touch with my horses, to listen to them in silence again and to share this safe space of compassion and kindness was what allowed me to get in touch with myself after the many years of caring for my family.

I am continuously learning and expanding my knowledge and skills in holistic horse care, equine functional anatomy and biomechanics. I have a strong personal Qigong and Taiji practise and experience the broader benefit of TCM daily.
